US men hold off Argentina in basketball exhibition

US men hold off Argentina in basketball exhibition

The U.S. Olympic men's basketball team held on for an 86-80 exhibition victory over Argentina on Sunday.
"I love it. You hate to breeze through exhibition games and then you get into London, and then you start getting competitive," U.S. forward LeBron James said. "So we have a very good team. It doesn't matter about how many points you win by, you just want to play well and get better that night, and I feel like we got better tonight."

Kevin Durant scored 27 points for the Americans. They looked like the Hall of Fame squad during a superb opening 10 minutes, but their lead was down to four with 2:50 left after Manu Ginobili's three-point play.
Durant and Chris Paul then hit big 3-pointers as the Americans won after being pushed for the second time in their four exhibition games. Kobe Bryant added 18 points and James had 15 for the U.S., which beat Brazil 80-69 in a similarly rugged game last week in Washington.

Big away wins for Croatia and Ireland in Euro playoffs

Big away wins for Croatia and Ireland in Euro playoffs...!!!

Croatia defeated Turkey with 3-0 while Ireland went one better in Tallinn with a 4-0 win over Estonia.
The Czech Republic took a big step towards the finals in Poland and Ukraine next year with a 2-0 win over Montenegro.
Slaven Bilic's Croatia might have been expecting a tough test in Istanbul, but an early goal after just two minutes from Ivica Olic put the skids under the home side, set up by Tottenham Hotspur's Vedran Corluka.
Croatia extended the lead on the half hour mark as Darijo Srna floated over cross for Wolfsburg striker Mario Mandzukic to head home.
Turkey were in disarray and failed to pick up Corluka from a free kick early in the second half and he headed home for a third which has effectively killed the two-legged tie.

Verizon iPhone sales not as good as AT&T's as Expected...!!

Verizon iPhone sales not as good as AT&T's...!!

As it was said before that AT&T Stays Strong Against Verizon iPhone Threat, it has become
nearly true looking at the sale of Verizon iPhone. The blockbuster smartphone by Verizon has yet to pay off in its battle against AT&T Inc.

Verizon Wireless, the No. 1 U.S. mobile service, signed up 1.3 million fewer iPhone customers than AT&T in the second quarter, disappointing high hopes of investors who sent its shares down almost 3 percent.

In addition to this, Verizon Wireless customers spent less per month than was expected as the company changed its data service price plans for Its Customers, further dashing Wall Street on Friday.

Furthermore, Verizon Wireless it only activated 2.3 million Apple Inc iPhones compared with 3.6 million activations at AT&T.

"AT&T has done a much better job of hanging on to iPhone customers than anybody expected," said Credit Suisse analyst Jonathan Chaplin.

So it Seems that the Battle between Verizon and AT&T is heading towards an interesting competition...!!!

Facebook just released a dedicated iPad app...!!

iPad users can enjoy full access to their Facebook Accounts because Facebook just released a dedicated iPad app...!
Facebook iPad app

Facebook's latest update to its iPhone app, version 3.4.4, includes executable code that allows its users with  iPads to approach and use the social network's full, native tablet application.

A Facebook iPad app is on the top of  the wish lists of the social network's users for quite some time. The company presently offers full-featured smartphone applications across several different operating systems, for instance, iOS and Android, but, one thing to keep in mind, iPad owners need to access Facebook via their Safari browser.

Since the launch of the iPad, there have been rumours claiming Facebook was nearing the launch of its tablet application. For Instance, The New York Times reported Last month that the social network would be launching its iPad app "in the coming weeks."

That rumor was supported greatly by Facebook's announcement late last month that it was planning to "launch something awesome" early on in July.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg kept the hope alive, however, saying that this month's announcement was the first of what would be many in the company's "launching season 2011."
